Read your store analytics

Analytics shows how your store and every bluebarry module are doing, on one page with one date range. Every number is compared with the period of the same length right before it, so you see at a glance what went up and what went down.

Open Analytics

  1. In the Studio sidebar, click Analytics, right below Audience. It opens on the Overview tab.
  2. Pick a date range at the top right. The presets are Last 7d, Last 14d, Last 30d, Last 90d or choose your own dates in the calendar. The page opens on the last 7 complete days, ending yesterday. The presets end yesterday too: today is left out because its orders are still coming in.
  3. Switch between Overview, Modules and Personalizations. The date range stays the same on all three tabs.

How to read the change

Next to each number you see how it moved against the previous period. With the last 7 days picked, that is the 7 days before them.

  • Counts and money change in percent. Orders going from 200 to 230 shows +15%.
  • Rates change in percentage points, shown as pt. A conversion rate going from 2% to 3% shows +1 pt, not +50%.
  • Green means good news and red means bad news. For most numbers up is good. For the zero-result rate of search, popup dismissals and unanswered product chat questions, lower is better, so a drop shows green.
  • New means the number was zero in the previous period. No change means it barely moved. When one of the two periods has no number at all, there is nothing to compare and no change is shown.

Overview: your store's own numbers

Overview shows your whole store, not only what bluebarry touched. The numbers come from the orders imported into bluebarry from your store.

The numbers on Overview
NumberWhat it shows
RevenueWhat your store sold in the period, in your store's currency.
OrdersHow many orders your store received.
Average order valueRevenue divided by orders.
Conversion rateThe share of your store's sessions that ended in an order, from Shopify's own session numbers. Shown on Shopify stores.
Returning customersThe share of orders from customers who had ordered from you before.
  • The chart shows one number per day. Switch it between Revenue, Orders and, on Shopify stores, Conversion rate.
  • Biggest movers lists the live modules whose main number moved most, up or down. Click one, or Every module, to open the Modules tab.

Modules: every module side by side

Modules lists every module in one table, grouped by the stages of your personalization loop: Recognize, Personalize and Profit. Each row has the same columns:

  • Module: the module's name. Click it to open the module.
  • Activity: how much the module was used, such as quiz starts or searches.
  • Main result: the one number that tells you whether it works.
  • Attributed revenue: the revenue the module's own report credits it with, or Not attributed.
  • Change: how the main result moved against the previous period.

Each module measures in its own words:

What each module measures
ModuleActivityMain resultAttributed revenue
QuizzesStartsCompletion rateRevenue from quiz takers
Product chatConversationsAssisted conversionsNot attributed
PopupsViewsSubmission rateNot attributed
SearchSearchesZero-result rate (lower is better)Revenue from search
Landing pagesViewsNoneNot attributed
RecommendationsShoppersOrder rateRevenue from recommendation blocks

Why attributed revenue is not added up

Each module counts revenue its own way, and one order can count for several modules. A shopper who searches, takes a quiz and then buys a recommended product can show up under Search, Quizzes and Recommendations. Adding the column up would count that order three times, so the table has no total. For your store's real revenue, look at Overview.

Not live yet or Not measured yet

  • Not live yet means you have not added the module to your store. Click Add it from Home to start it from your personalization loop.
  • Not measured yet means the module is live, but bluebarry does not report its results here yet. This is the case for Bundles, Collection pages and Post-purchase. You still see the module's activity where there is one.

Go to a module's or item's results

  1. Click the arrow at the end of a module's row.
  2. Read the supporting numbers on the left, each with its own change. For example completions and product clicks for quizzes, submissions and dismissals for popups, or the click rate for search and recommendations.
  3. On the right you see the module's items, the busiest first: each quiz, popup, search configuration, landing page or recommendation block. Click an item to see its own results. Quizzes open Quizzes → Results. A popup opens straight on its Insights tab, and a search configuration, landing page or recommendation block on its Analyze step.
  4. The link below the list, such as Open Popups, takes you to the module itself.

Personalizations

The third tab shows every segment-targeted setting, each compared with a group of shoppers who did not get it, on the same date range as the other tabs. The old Personalizations address takes you here. See Measure personalizations.

Good to know

  • Overview needs your store's orders. If it stays empty, check that your orders are imported. See Import your orders.
  • The full quiz analytics, with the funnel and insights, stays under Quizzes → Results. See Quiz analytics overview.
  • Analytics shows the numbers. For advice on what to change, ask Barry on Home. See Meet Barry.
