Building bluebarry feeds in Channable

Already using Channable? Then it is one of the easiest ways to build a feed for bluebarry. Channable has a bluebarry channel with the required fields already in place. You set it up in Channable, copy the feed link and paste it into bluebarry.

Find the bluebarry channel

1. In Channable, click Create Channel.
2. Search for "bluebarry".
3. Select the bluebarry channel.

The channel comes with the fields bluebarry needs, so you don't have to guess.

Channel settings

• Give the channel a name. "bluebarry" works fine.
• You can skip target country and market type.
• No categorization is needed. bluebarry isn't a marketplace, so it doesn't use a fixed category tree.

Clean up with rules

Use Channable's rules as you normally would: enrich data, fix values, and include or exclude products. The cleaner the feed, the better your quiz matches and search filters.

Map your fields

The mapping screen in Channable has four sections.

Mandatory fields

• Name: link it to your title field.
• URL: link it to your product page link.
• Image URL: link it to your image link.

bluebarry needs these to show a product with a picture and a working link.

Recommended fields

Add the price. You'll want to show it on quiz results and use it for budget questions.

Optional fields

Add any other standard fields you find useful.

Manual section

This is the important one. Add every attribute you want to filter on in quizzes or search: color, size, your own categories. If it isn't in the feed, bluebarry can't match on it.

Create a custom field

Need a field that doesn't exist in Channable yet, such as "bluebarry_category"?

1. Click Create new project field.
2. Name it, for example "bluebarry_category".
3. Set the type to text, unless it only holds numbers.
4. Save and refresh. The field now shows up in your field options.

Run the feed

1. Run the quality check.
2. Save and activate the feed.
3. Copy the live feed URL.

Import it into bluebarry

1. In bluebarry, go to Products → Feeds and click Create Feed.
2. Enter a Feed name and paste the Channable link into URL.
3. Pick the Product identifier column.
4. Click Auto-map columns and check the result.
5. Click Create Feed, then Sync Now.

How columns are mapped

Auto-map columns recognises fields like name, URL and image and maps them for you. For your own attributes it suggests a new property. You can switch any column to Create Text property, Create Numeric property (for numbers you want to compare, such as price) or Create Boolean property (yes or no).
