Two-factor authentication adds a second step when you sign in to bluebarry Studio. After your password, you enter a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone. Someone who knows your password still cannot get in without that code. It is optional, and each team member turns it on for their own login.
You need an authenticator app that makes time-based codes, such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password or Authy. bluebarry does not send codes by SMS or email.
Turn it on
- In the sidebar, go to Settings and open the Security tab.
- In Two-factor authentication, click Turn on.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app. If you cannot scan it, click Can't scan it? and type the setup key into the app instead.
- Enter the 6-digit code the app shows and click Turn on.
- bluebarry shows 10 recovery codes. Save them with Copy or Download, then click Done.
The recovery codes are shown only once. Keep them somewhere safe outside bluebarry, for example in your password manager.
Sign in with a code
After your password, or after you sign in with Google, Studio asks for your code in the Two-factor authentication step. Open your authenticator app and enter the 6-digit code it shows for bluebarry. Do not have your phone? Click Use a recovery code instead and enter one of your recovery codes.
Studio also asks for the code when you connect an app or AI assistant through Sign in with bluebarry, for example the bluebarry MCP server. See the MCP tool reference.
Recovery codes
Each recovery code works once. While two-factor authentication is on, the card on the Security tab shows how many codes you have left. Running low? Click New recovery codes and enter a current code from your app. This replaces all your old recovery codes, so save the new set straight away.
Turn it off
On the Security tab, click Turn off in Two-factor authentication and enter a code from your app or a recovery code. From then on you sign in with your password only.
Good to know
- Lost your phone and your recovery codes? Email [email protected] and we help you get back in.
- After too many wrong codes, sign-in is paused for a while. Wait and try again later.
- The codes depend on the time on your phone. If the app's code is not accepted, check that your phone sets its date and time automatically.
